We love GLAM!

Today we’re talking about our beloved classic, the GLAM filter! It’s our favorite because, let’s face it, it makes everyone look extra fantastic with its subtle airbrushing and smoothing effects. The glam filter is also instant, no face tuning apps required ;) Our fobo Photo Booth shows a live view with glam, and then you just tap to take your perfect photo in b/w or color – you choose!

Originally made famous by the Kardashians, the glam filter has become a go to for our celebrity clients. It’s also super popular for weddings, because everyone wants to look star studded on their special day. But really, any day is a special day with GLAM!

#Defiant Custom Photo Booth

MVS Studio had the pleasure of joining HBO at a screening of their upcoming documentary series The Defiant Ones at The Cinefamily theater in Hollywood!

To promote the new mini-series, we used our fobo Photo Booth to create a photo op mimicking the aesthetic of the show’s publicity posters.

Capturing the cinematic feel of the posters only took a small adjustment to our standard photo booth set up! We flipped the orientation for a portrait layout, shot towards a black background, and added digital branding to imitate the style of the poster. We loved this super simple solution that created such a dramatic effect!

Guests had a blast and even Dee Barnes and series director Allen Hughes got in the booth!

MVS Studio hit the ground running in 2017 with the world debut of our green screen 360 booth. We teamed up with New Balance and Highsnobiety to create an immersive and interactive installation for the global launch of New Balance’s 247 Luxe sneaker. We had a blast designing an activation that played into the launch’s worldwide appeal and in January we installed our 360 booths in 7 cities worldwide: Tokyo, Shanghai, Seoul, Paris, London, New York and Los Angeles.

The green screen 360 let guests select a location and transport themselves across the globe! Guests tried on the 247 Luxe sneakers, snapped a photo in the 360 booth, and then instantly received branded video files to post to Instagram, and 360 degree photos to post to Facebook.

Facebook allows you to scroll through 360 photos to navigate every angle - check out our tech Chelsea transported to Hong Kong here!

Video files posted to Instagram animate instantly like the Los Angeles beach shot below!

Adidas X Footlocker Experience

Video by Caslon Cato

MVS Studio teamed up with Adidas and Footlocker to create an exciting brand activation based on one of our tried and true custom set ups - the Shoe Booth!

We brought on Bednark Studio to fabricate a custom concrete turntable for the shoes. Guests were able to get custom laser printed logos by local artists on their new kicks! They'd drop them in the booth and then text the 360 GIF to themselves for instant branded social media uploads!

These custom solutions are our passion projects and really bring the studio to life with creativity and new compelling brand activations! Do you have an event and want to have an exciting customer experience to draw people in? Bring your ideas to us and you won't be disappointed!

Spike Lee's Brooklyn Loves MJ Block Party Photo Booth

Director Spike Lee hosted his 6th annual birthday party for the late King of Pop and called on the MVS Studio Digital Photo Booth to capture the fun and to provide guests with a social media ready takeaway.  “Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson” took place on Aug. 27 at the intersection in Brooklyn known as “Do the Right Thing Way.”

The free block party returned for its sixth year in the borough, hosted by Spike Lee himself and rapper and radio host Sway, with tunes from DJ Spinna. We had a great time at the block party, and have been regular fixtures at Spike's block parties for some time. We can't wait for the next one!

Check out some highlights below - this block party definitely brought some distinctive Brooklyn style!

Now Debuting - The Warhol fobo Photo Booth!

In an ode to the original master of the photo booth, Andy Warhol, we have created a custom Warhol fobo PRO photo booth. It shoots four frames and turns them into an ultra flattering classic Warhol screenprint animation! The prints come out equally cool and artsy - a 2" x 4" full color grid of your photos.  The Warhol Booth includes unlimited printing, branding however you see fit, and of course - our favorite - "Text Your Selfie" social sharing.

Are you going to be the first person in the world to book our Warhol Booth? Reach out to us today!

One of my favorite pieces of photography at The Metropolitan Museum here in NYC is an innocuous photo strip with an ownership history as interesting as the piece itself. Originally owned by the legendary collector Sam Wagstadd it was, after his death, passed down to his friend, the artist Robert Mapplethorpe - who himself echoed Warhol throughout his career.

For Warhol, the photo booth represented a quintessentially modern intersection of mass entertainment and private self-contemplation. In these little curtained theaters, the sitter could adopt a succession of different roles, each captured in a single frame; the resulting strip of four poses resembled a snippet of film footage. The serial, mechanical nature of the strips provided Warhol with an ideal model for his aesthetic of passivity, detachment, and instant celebrity.

Here at MVS Studio we are as fascinated with the Kardashian/Jenner's as the rest of the world! It blew our minds to find out that Kylie flooded her app with Behind The Scenes shots from the Digital Photo Booth from her LipKit Launch in November.
